I was recently interviewed on my morning and evening routine to stay in my joy - here's what I had to say:
What tools or practices can one leverage to find alignment in
Creating a morning and evening routine is essential to not start the day unrehearsed.
Before you go to bed, write down the best things that happened to you that day. Next, write out what you're going to do tomorrow and how you plan on feeling.
As soon as you wake up, the real magic begins, right when your feet hit the ground in the morning, say something funny, like "I'm back!" or "Heck yeah, I get to go again!"
It's a challenge to distract our brains from negativity in the morning, but if you can do it - I promise it'll be more energizing than a cup of coffee.
And why is it important to find alignment or balance for all
around well being?
It is the opposite of selfish to practice alignment, it's actually, surprisngly, selfless. When we are operating at our highest, brightest happiest selves - that's when we feel inspired to create.
This was a hard lesson for me to learn, as I felt really guilty when I felt good as if the other shoe was going to drop if I let go and enjoyed my life. However, it was when I embraced my joy that I was able to start being of service to the world! With my extra energy gained from not feeling so bad, I began to write more and even started recording a daily uplifting podcast. You'll be amazed at what service you can be of to the world when you take the time to align yourself first.
What are your favorite routines? Do you feel guilty in joy too, from time to time? I'd love to hear from you in the comments below!
